Calling popular shows that people enjoy is a tad elitist and is very much
analogous to the pop art vs traditional art argument. i.e. Unless it is
totally abstract and a lot of goofy art critics bob their heads up and down
about it without really knowing what the hell they are on about its no good.
In other words, if joe public understands it then its no good.!!!, There is a
painting in SFMOMA (San Fran Museum of Modern Arts) that is a bloody huge
canvas painted black with a red line in the middle!!!.
Concept of good and bad varies with the times. And indeed is determined by
the popularity, there is no absoloute measure of how good or bad a work of
art or literature is. To the non SF enthusiasts, all of this is crap!!!...
Let have a clear sense of proportion..
