Position Title: Research Apprentice
Microsoft has an immediate opportunity for an apprentice position to
assist research librarians with reference and research inquiries. The
position is paid, full-time temporary, 9 to 12 month assignment.
You will be working in our fast-paced information services department
under the guidance of expert researchers, working on a variety of
business, consumer and computer-related topics. This is an ideal
opportunity to gather valuable hands-on experience in a challenging
setting.
Responsibilities will include responding to customer requests by using
online databases, the Internet, market research reports, non-traditional
information sources and your own creativity. In addition to expanding
search skills, you will learn more about prioritizing multiple
assignments to meet deadlines and delivering the requested information
in appropriate format.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will either have completed the Master's Degree, or
are enrolled in the second year of a library, information science or
business administration program. Candidate must have some experience
with online databases, information retrieval technology and personal
computers. This position requires a high energy, motivated approach to
information delivery, a strong team orientation and demonstrated
commitment to customer service.
