Sounds reasonable, but it still strikes me as a sophisticated form of
backfilling after the original mistake. Actually, I like the interpretation
that Solo is deliberately blowing inaccurate jargon past Luke just to
demonstrate to himself how inexperienced the kid is. Or maybe Lucas
included it as a red flag to anyone who actually knew what a "parsec" was to
remind them that this is only intended to be space opera--don't take it too
seriously.
