I was just in a Super Crown bookstore looking for a new book by Ivan Cat
(which had sold out by the way) and at the front desk was a rack full of Star
Trek and SW's polyglot. I asked why? and the response was " we have too many
and are trying to get rid of them." Maybe the public is wising up. At least
now I know it may just be in the number of books sent to the retailer. I
asked the clerk if she had ever read any sci-fi and it was her opinion that
it was too confusing to find something that looked interesting. AHA!
Marketing! All that wonderful cover art is destroying the very thing it was
designed to achieve; the sale of a product. I had to agree because that is
why I got on this list. Maybe a general push of some kind of indexing
(without making a judgment call :-O) would help. I'm open for
suggestions, not being either a marketer or a writer. All I know that if I had
spent the time and money to write, publish I would want the best return
possible on my $.
