What about Mel Brooks? Spaceballs and Young Frankenstein both qualify,
maybe a few others if we stretch the definition. Also, watch Time Bandits
again. It is definetly NOT for children only. It is definetly on my top ten
list of best movies ever made (which at this point lists about thirty-eight
films. Go figure.) It is also directed by Terry Gilliam. Gilliam is the
only director that will get me into a theatre based solely on having his name
in the credits. I've never been disappointed in his work. Speaking of
Gilliam, the Fisher King might also work, as another black comedy. Did star
Robin Williams, after all...
