Systems Librarian

Innovative is currently seeking an enthusiastic individual who enjoys
working in a fast-paced, team oriented department. Responsibilities
include: providing daily telephone support to INNOPAC system users,
investigating, testing and diagnosing problems using UNIX tools and
Innovative system utilities, testing and installing software fixes,
enhancements, features, and system upgrades on customer systems. This
position monitors system reports and troubleshoots to resolve problems
identified by the reports and performs special projects requested by
users, ie., indexing projects, special tape loads of records, migrations
and conversions. This position works closely with Innovative Programming
and Technical Support staff to resolve reported software problems.

Requirements include: MLS or equivalent; sound understanding of library
practices and procedures. Knowledge of MARC format and cataloging,
minimum one year of professional experience. Demonstrated experience in
one or more of the following; library technical services, data or
technical processing, or reference in public, academic or special
libraries. Knowledge of UNIX a plus. Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills; strong commitment to service. Demonstrated ability
in conflict resolution, problem solving, and priority management.
