Miketotty -- I beg to differ! The gender issues in Bladerunner are very
explicit -- just think about it for a minute -- the woman is a very biddable
machined human being -- stronger, faster, etc. than the human male (okay, I
know there are some questions about Deckert's humanity/humanness), yet when he
commands, she obeys. Is this not the very woman men supposedly want? An
animated version of the blow-up dolly? Please believe me when I say YES, there
are gender issues in Bladerunner that could go on for days! However, I'm not
sure this list is the place, but I could not let that comment go by (I did a
paper on this very subject recently...)
