Focus on Electronic Information No. 97-01
Date: January 1997
Subject: Web-Cite: full-text literary scholarship on the
Internet
Web-Cite is an Internet resource currently containing links
to more than 2,200 articles, book reviews, conference
papers, and hypertext documents. Each item is coded for its
online availability: full text available, restricted access,
abstract, excerpt, or listing. Designed to simplify online
research, Web-Cite allows sources relevant to a search to be
located in three ways:
1) browse listings by period, genre, and nationality;
2) search for words in the full text of sources: author
names, titles, or keywords; and
3) register to receive notification of new additions to the
resource list in user-defined fields (e.g., twentieth-
century Canadian fiction) or matching a search term.
This site also contains a web "cite" of the week, a site of
broad scholarly appeal chosen from recent additions to the
Web-Cite resource list.
