I'd prefer tresette or traversone or quadrilatero or quintiglio or briscola in
cinque or scopone scientifico or even briscola. Scala quaranta if
there are no sophisticated card players.
Perhaps my main activity could be teaching Italian card games.
If any Sf writer in this list wishes to include an alien card game
in her/his next novel/story, just tell me an I'll explain the most
popular (and metaphysical) Sicilian card game, briscola in cinque,
which explains why the mafiosi are so clever notwithstanding they
(usually) aren't cultivated people.
Ah, I had forgotten: what about Risk and Monopoly?
(now that I think of it, has anybody ever read a novel called The
Norman Way, written by a Mr. J.T. McIntosh, which was totally based
on alien games and sports?)
