And as for Terry Pratchett...
I admit to being a Pratchett fan, although I'll admit that he hasn't
done anything particularly new or spectacular lately. He does tend to
get bogged down in the same jokes, and in recent years has taken the
"kitchen sink" approach to series writing--stuff in as many references
for the fans as possible. But I admire his work, and still laugh. I
think his best book is Guards! Guards!, followed by Sourcery and Small
Gods (and I have a special love for Eric, which, while not too profound,
is a first-class romp, and Good Omens, which he wrote with Neil Gaiman).
