TITLE: Electronic Information Services/Reference Librarian
Kilmer Area Library
RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide leadership in the development and implementation of
instruction and training program for electronic information services and
resources for library faculty and staff. Assist in designing supporting
materials for individual and group instruction and training in a networked
environment. Participate in the user education program, collection
development, development and maintenance of Web pages, and reference
services, including weekends and evenings. Research, publication, and
involvement in professional associations are expected.
QUALIFICATIONS: An ALA accredited MLS degree and three years professional
experience required. Strong oral and written communication skills;
ability to work independently, as well as in a collegial and team-based
environment; substantial knowledge and experience with electronic resources
and information technology, including computer networks, multimedia, Internet,
HTML, and Netscape; commitment to user services; experience in teaching or
training. Experience in providing business information services and
undergraduate services highly desirable.
SALARY: Dependent upon experience and qualifications with a minimum of
$39,184 for a Librarian III tenure track appointment.
STATUS/BENEFITS: Faculty status, calendar year appointment, TIAA/CREF pension,
life/health insurance, prescription drug, dental and eyeglass plans, tuition
remission, one month vacation.
LIBRARY PROFILE: Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, has campuses in
three geographic locations: Camden, New Brunswick, and Newark. The Kilmer
Library, one of six major libraries in the Rutgers University Libraries
system,
focuses on user education, general undergraduate services, and business
