Umberto's question about who's afraid of Simak and Patty's
posting about Hoka books made me fully realize that Poul Anderson is the
other great missing in our not-so-little, fiercely argumentative,
dragon-fire heated list. He's one of the most important authors in the
field, after all, spanning from SF (Polesotechnic League, Terran Empire
cycles) to fantasy ("The Merman's Children", "The King of Ys"), winning I
forget how many Hugos and Nebulas ("Queen of Air and Darkness", "The
Longest Voyage", "Kings Who Die", "Goat Song" are the winning ones I
remember).
So, I would like to ask the question: Who's afraid of Poul
Anderson? (Other than Patty Silva, obviously)
