The Catholic University of America, located in Washington,=20
DC, seeks two full-time tenure track faculty members for the=20
ALA-accredited School of Library and Information Science.
Successful candidates will be prepared to teach in the core=20
curriculum and in two or more of the following areas: =20
archives, records management, book arts, information=20
systems, networking, and information storage and retrieval.
The ability to carry out a research and publication agenda,=20
the potential for leadership in professional and scholarly=20
organizations, and the desire to work with a collegial=20
community of students, faculty, staff, and alumni are=20
necessary. Requirements for consideration include an=20
earned doctorate in library/information science or related=20
specialty as well as an MSLS and/or substantial experience=20
in libraries, archives, or other information service environments.
The School, which grants the Master of Science in Library=20
Science, serves over 350 full- and part-time students on=20
the Washington campus, at the Library of Congress, and=20
at three sites in Virginia. The Catholic University of=20
America is sponsored by the Roman Catholic bishops=20
of the United States as a national university and center=20
of instruction and research. Members and associates=20
of the faculties are expected to respect the religious=20
