The Dayton and Montgomery County Public Library has vacancies for two
reference librarians in the Adult Services Department of the Main
Library in downtown Dayton.
Dayton is an attractive city with a low cost of living. It is one of
the nation's largest 90 minute markets. The city offers a surprising
variety of cultural and educational institutions including nine colleges
and universities within a twenty mile radius.
Ohio's public libraries are among the best funded in the country, and
the Dayton and Montgomery County Public Library enjoys strong local
support. Two levies for additional funding were recently passed. 1997
marks the 150 anniversary of the library. Join us and join in the

Qualifications: ALA accredited MLS; ability to work effectively as a
team member in a rapidly changing environment; knowledge of electronic
reference sources. Desirable but not required: experience in creating
and maintaining databases using Microsoft Access 7.0, and public library
experience.
Starting salary $30,202 with an increase to $31, 117 in June, 1997.
Excellent fringe benefits including a choice of health insurance plans,
22 days vacation, 15 days sick leave, and 12 paid holidays annually.
