While we are on the topic of avoiding the "pay to play" syndrome:
While conversion to HTML is the only reasonable way to make EAD
documents more widely available at the moment, how much longer do we have
to wait until web browsers (such as Netscape and Internet Explorer) are
equipped to handle common SGML DTD's. I have heard talk of XML emerging,
but does anyone "in the know" have a realistic idea of how long we have to
wait before we can expect to find these features in freely distributed
browser?
Thanks,
Chuck Thomas
