The EAD lets us mark up the text of a finding aid.  Yet, perhaps because I do
MARC cataloging, I don't see a standard metholodology for dealing with names in
a manner that will allow retrieval based on standard practices.

To be sure I am familiar with the various elements one can use to mark up a
name.  But if one is simply marking up a finding aid, that name could appear,
for example, in direct or indirect order.  What mechanism is there for
collocating names?

I can see the possibility that one could always include a kind of "invisible"
entry whenever one uses a name in direct order, but it seems that some
standardized method should be used here.
