The best King books are excellent page turners, and certainly FIRESTARTER
has SF elements (artificial boosting of psionic powers) and was a far
better book than it was a film, though I found parts of it to be rather
trite. Telekinesis is the explanation of Carrie's powers, so perhaps CARRIE
should be considered SF as well, and THE STAND is a post-apocalyptic tale
and counts as SF (though I preferred Robert McCammon's similar SWAN SONG as
a novel). My favorite King book is DIFFERENT SEASONS--four novellas, all of
them excellent. None of them suffer from Word Processing Disease where the
author goes on too long (al=E1 IT and others).
