Colleagues,
I'm sending this to both the EAD and the Archives list, and
I apologize for the inconvenience to those of you who get it twice.
I've reached the point of needing to decide what we're going to do
about application of controlled access terms to marked-up documents, so
I'm trying to make contact with those who've been through, or are going
through, this process. In particular, what have you decided about
name authority
implicit concepts not explicitly stated
links between the MARC record and the electronic finding aid,
subject headings of all sorts (topic, occupation, genre)
If you're using controlled vocabularies, what thesaurus or
thesauri have you chosen?
If you're adding them to the finding aid, where do you put them?
What other critical questions have I overlooked?
What should I read on this topic?
