In reply to the following, as well as Laura Graham's response:
The largest file I've been able to successfully import into A/E - with
rules checking on - is 2.9M (The Langston Hughes Papers)
I've never received an error message, as I have with my browsers -
Panorama and MultiDoc Pro - which both get very cranky and
can act erratically if they have to share limited memory resources.
For the record, I am running Windows for Workgroups 3.11
on a Digital Venturis (90 MHz) with 16M RAM and
I am using the EAD.DTD in modular format.
This sounds vaguely like a memory/system resource allocation
problem. You might want to see if any restrictions have been put on
how much RAM is available to A/E.
