Palm Beach County Library System is looking for a librarian with
a positive customer service attitude to lead a team of six professional
librarians to meet the challenges of a library-loving and demanding
community in west Boca Raton, Florida.  The Southwest County Regional
Library is a 24,000 sq. ft. building with a collection of over 135,000
volumes.  It is part of a growing county library system where the winters
are mild and the beaches are beautiful.
LIBRARIAN II, HEAD OF REFERENCE:  Plans and provides reference and adult
services in a growing regional library with an annual circulation of
783,000.  Oversees the collection development of adult and electronic
materials.  Selects, trains and supervises six professional staff.  Over-
sees a materials budget of over $200,000.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  ALA MLS plus two years professional public
library experience that includes one year of supervisory experience.
Preference given for:  public library reference and collection develop-
ment experience and customer service experience.  Salary Range:  $30,881
