Pentagon Library
Dear Interlibrary Loan Colleague:
The reality of the renovation of the Pentagon hit the Pentagon
Library on 19 September 1997. It is estimated that portions of our
collection will be inaccessible until the end of December 1997.
Additionally, our ILL/Circulation staff of 2 is being temporarily
decreased to 1.
In order to maximize service to our Pentagon patron base and to
use our available staff more efficiently, we will become a non-supplier
for the period 1 October 1997 through 31 December 1997. Realizing that
our actions will cause considerable inconvenience for some of you, we
apologize in advance. In addition, we ask that you bear with us and
continue to lend us materials when the need arises. (Remember we will
have portions of our collection unavailable at times.)
Although we will not be responding affirmatively to OCLC requests,
in fact we will not even be checking OCLC, we will be available to lend
materials which are unique to our collection or when we are the library
of last resort for military libraries. In order to obtain materials,
you will need to make a telephone call to the Pentagon Library to
confirm the status of the item and its availability for loan. This
call must then be followed by an ALA request form (or its equivalent)
which you may either FAX or mail to us.
Thank you for your cooperation. The point of contact at Pentagon
Library is Yolanda Miller. You may reach her at 703-697-4591. FAX is
703-693-3731. Mailing address is as follows:
