Peter - I don't know if you've had any response to your query about
"mailto" links, yet, but here goes...
It appears that your software has to support the "mailto" function.
(This is from a tutorial on HTML). My version of Panorama (Pro 2.0)
doesn't include any provision for "mailto". The only thing it
references externally are entities (including http URLS) and viewers.
The EAD Working Group's meeting agenda (posted
Oct 24) listed the suggestion of adding an "EMAIL"
notation to the DTD (in eadnotat.ent).
Of course, the functionality of this will depend
on SGML browsers being "mailto" compliant.
