Other practitioners of this type (especially in fantasy) include Tom
Holt, Robert Rankin, and Andrew Harman. Interestingly enough, all are
English and few have had many of their books published in the US (Holt
and Rankin have had a couple, Harman, none). Pratchett, apparently, is
to British bookselling what Stephen King is in the US. You might also
want to find a book recently published called "The Wizards of Odd", a
short story collection which does include a Pratchett short story and
others in a similar vein.
