<< Asimov contributed a lot to Boy's Life magazine. Man, that brings
back memories of the Scouts and that wonderful mag. I don't think
Heinlein ever submitted to it, so my money's on Asimov.
By the way, does anyone remember a store called The City of Gold and
Lead. It was serialized as a comic strip in Boy's Life, but I think
it was a novel. It's about these brown, three-eyed humanoid-like
creatures who enslave the Earth. Can anyone tell me anything about
it?

That was by CS Lewis, wasn't it? With the tripods and skull caps. I can't
remember the series name though I think that's the author. I remember those
comics well though.
Thanks for your ideas on the Space Cadet/something-or-another so
far...although I don't think anyone's caught it yet. The writing was
definitely NOT Aasimov. These were books, about 8 of them, in plain blue
covers. I'm trying to remember more about it...there was the one main
character who was the upright good guy. Then they had the Reggie-type
sleazy-but-not-sleazy type character, then they had the big Moose type guy
(who I think was from Venus). The first book or two was about the group
making it into the organization. They books definitely had a 50s feel to
them.
My hopes are still with you guys...
Bob
