Position: Cataloger, Ingram Library Services

Description: Catalogers are responsible for the creation of original and
copy bibliographic records as well as maintenance of the BookMARC database.
The ideal candidate will possess a Masters degree in Library Science from an
ALA accredited institution and have excellent knowledge of MARC format,
AACR2, LC Rule Interpretations, and other cataloging tools. The candidate
should also be familiar with LC, Dewey, and Sears classification schema.
Demonstrated computer skills are a must. The candidate must also be willing
to work in a team environment. Contact with customers may be required, so
good communication skills are vital. Flexibility is also essential since
our catalogers often move quickly from task to task. Familiarity with
Marcive, Bibliofile, OCLC and other database interfaces is a plus as is
knowledge of format integration.
