The left hook is used in Latvian and Romanian. There is an OCLC
publication, Diacritics and special charcters, 2nd ed, c1991, which
contains lists of all diacritics and special characters and the languages
in which they are used. It also has a reverse list by language, with
examples of all the diacritics and spec. characters used in each. I don't
know if there is a later ed. of this handy publication since this is the
latest one we have readily available.

Looking over the USMARC to Universal Character set mappings i have

good source for this type of information?
