I've always thought Kurtz had a very definite religious attachment,
depending on exactly what meaning you attach to that phrase.

On an unrelated topic, I was perusing my old Analogs, and I ran
across an old story published in '74 or '75 called "The raven and
the hawk", or something very similar, about an SF "reader" with
delusions of granduer which are made real by way of a sequence
of accidents. Now, what I've seen on the list so far makes me
think that stories like this just go away once they've been
published. Where do short stories go when they've had their day?
To whom does control revert, and for how long? This story, for
example, is now 23 years out of print (wow, does that hurt to say-
75 isn't that long ago). Is it legal to put it on a website or
pass it around to my SF reading friends by email? It seems a shame
for these stories to just languish.
