I just received word today from ITS that outgoing Internet messages in GroupWise were lost over a
period of several days (incoming Internet messages were received OK). The problem has been
corrected; simple procedures to resend your messages are given below.
The GW Steering Group, however, will be discussing this further with ITS so there would be a better
monitoring system in place to catch these problems.
Please pass this message along to your key managers and/or automation liaisions in your division so
it gets distributed to all of your division staff.
Thank you for your attention.
Library Services GroupWise Steering Group:
As described in the message included below from ITS, there was a problem with messages sent
from GroupWise to non-GroupWise accounts (i.e., Internet mail) on January 15-20. GroupWise
directorate representatives please distribute this message to all GroupWise users in your
directorate. This is obviously a topic that we need to follow up on with ITS.
GroupWise Team Members:
I regret to inform you that due to a technical problem that occurred on Thursday, January 15 that all
outgoing GroupWise messages addressed through the GroupWise Internet gateway have been lost
within the time span of:
Thursday Jan. 15 at 11:06 am until Tuesday Jan. 20 at 2:18 pm
Users who wish to resend messages can do so as follows:
- Open the OutBox and look for messages that begin with either "inet" or "lc.inet" that were sent
within the time frame shown above.
- Single click on an item to be resent (highlight the item) and then select Send/Resend.
If users have deleted messages from the OutBox, they can be "undeleted" from trash by highlighting
the messages in Trash and then selecting Edit/Undelete.
