Douglas Adams was brought up--the first Dirk Gently novel was _Dirk Gently's
Holoistic Detective Agency_ and the second was _Long Dark Tea-Time of the
Soul. Both were fun, 'specially when (in the first) you get the literary
reference... Other humorous SF? For humor you are ashamed to admit to, try
the movie _Killer Klowns from Outer Space_. Really really bad.
Quick note on the Heinlein comments: his novels can be fun, but I've really
enjoyed going over the short fiction--good brief stories that have a lot of
variety.
'nuff said.

yeah, KILLER KLOWNS was awful. I actually watched it up to the point
where they started turning people into cotton candy. To this day I
haven't seen the end of it. Good rule to follow: when you see in the
beginning scene of a movie Royal Dano in a cabin out in the woods
with a bird dog, run!
