Myths and misinformation about copyright and fair use abound.
Without all the facts, libraries and users can risk lawsuits or
err on the side of caution and not use all the materials
available. Get a timely clarification of copyright issues at this
not-to-be-missed interactive seminar. Participants will:
* Review the rules governing fair use and cyberspace law
* Get trustworthy information from qualified authorities
* Reduce copyright concerns when creating and distributing online
materials.

Georgia Harper: considered the foremost expert on copyright, she
is the manager of the intellectual property section in the general
counsel's office for the University of Texas system.
Steven J. McDonald: both an associate counsel at The Ohio State
University and adjunct professor in the university's College of
Law, he has handled a number of Internet-related legal issues:
alleged copyright infringements on student Web pages, search
warrants for electronic communications, and e-mail threats and
remedies.
Janis Bruwelheide: known as a national authority on copyright and
intellectual property issues, she is also the author of The
Copyright Primer, and an experienced distance educator.
