You made the point that books can be both science fiction and horror.
As another example, take _Alien_, which is both. The movie used a science
fiction backdrop and was meant to horrify. There are those who would argue
that it used a horror backdrop for a science fiction story, but after
seeing the movie, I think that most of you will agree.
