Well, you know I haven't had my morning cup of tea.... There's a typo in the
URL for the lesson! The correct URL is
http://lcweb2.loc.gov/ammem/ndlpedu/lessons/oralhist/ohhome.html
Sorry,
Judy
Hi all,
We've posted a new lesson on the Learning Page. It's entitled, "Using Oral
History." You can find it off the Educators' Page under Lesson Ideas at
http://lcweb2.loc.gov/ammem/ndlpedu/lessons/oralhist.ohhome.html.
This lesson looks at three document sets (working women, automobiles, and
dancing) from American Life Histories. The documents help acquaint the
student with the possibilities for topics in collecting oral histories. The
lesson then moves to students experiencing the process of preparing, and
collecting oral histories. They then reflect on their experiences. Check
the teacher's material for links to the American Folklife Center booklet
entitled "Folklife and Fieldwork, A Layman's Guide" and to a project with
schools in Montana, called the Montana Heritage Project.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Judy Graves
