Just to let you know that I had a chance to spread the good word about
American Memory this weekend, to a group of California school librarians
meeting in Davis. Many of them had not known about the collections, and
were very excited to know what was available. Actually I tagged onto the
introduction to my workshop on using newspapers as primary sources, and
showed American Memory as a prime example of a top notch primary source.
Used up the last of the packet of those beautiful flyers and handouts that
we were sent. Hope there are some more. I have a few more seminars and
classes to give between now and the end of school, and would like to have
more of them to hand out.
Hope you all are having a great semester! Will run the second part of our
Reservation Controversies unit with another teacher in a couple weeks.
Have been modifying and tinkering with the lessons a bit. Have added some
orientation links, and reworded the introduction. Please let us know if
you have any suggestions.
