EAD workshop in North Carolina               3/5/98

Greetings,

The Society of North Carolina Archivists is sponsoring a pre-conference
workshop on EAD to be held on March 19, 1998.  The workshop was previously
open only to SNCA members, however a few slots remain open, so we are opening
it up for any interested people.  The workshop will be presented by Stephen
Miller, Digital Encoding Archivist at the Duke University Rare Book,
Manuscript, and Special Collections Library.  If you are interested in
attending, please send a reply to Paul Kiel ([log in to unmask]).  At this
late date, we can hold a slot for you while you pursue reimbursement avenues

The semiannual conference of SNCA is the following day March 20 at Duke
University.  Speakers include Daniel Pitti, Institute for Advanced Technology
in the Humanities at the University of Virginia, and Paul Mangiafico, Director
of The Digital Scriptorium at Duke University Rare Book, Manuscript, and
