In January LC announced that while the British Library had
implemented the use of indicator value "1" for all surnames in
authority records contributed to the national authority file, all other
NACO libraries would continue to use value "2" for multiple surnames.
Three other UK libraries (Cambridge, National Library of Scotland,
and Oxford) linked with the BL in a cooperative called the Copyright
Libraries Shared Cataloguing Programme (CLSCP) and the UK's
National Art Library will also contribute name authority records with
indicator value "1" for all surnames.
