I believe it was called the Olympic. (From what I read, it was slightly
heavier than the Titanic, just as large, just as splendid).
A good many people I've spoken to have seen Titanic a number of times; they
seem divided. Some are overwhelmed by the grandeur of the ship, the
romantic story of lost possibilities, love and death, and a glimpse into a
world that was ripped apart by World War I. Others say it was
hypertrophied goo, overly dramatic, but with great special effects.
I've seen the movie once, my opinions lie somewhere in the middle...tho'
even I, known as a perpetual cynic, found the movie moving and dare I say,
gorgeous. It's a rare movie that uses special effects so subtly, so well,
and not (like ID4, or that lumbering Outer Limits wannabe 'Dark City) let
them overwhelm the plot structure.
