The series was called VOYAGERS and came on NBC sometime in the early
to mid 80's. It was actually a grown man named (now wince when you
read this) Phineas Bogg, who had a little pocket-watch like device
called an Omni. He picked up the kid somehow, who he kept along
because he was a whiz at history.
A victim of too much television,

Thanks to both of you for the reminders. Yes, Colleen, you're right. It
was John Hexum who did accidentaly shoot himself with a blank at close
range. And James, I'm not surprised you remember that info. I'm surprised
I didn't a i was a victim as well ( but I liked it, I really liked it).

Wasn't John Hexum the actor who shot himself with a blank in the head and
died of his wounds? I vaguely remember this event and thought it was this
person, but I could be wrong.

Wasn't it something like "Travelers" or "Time Travelers?" If it's what I'm
thinking of, the show starred John Hexum (sp) and a kid, Mario Puzio (?).
It wasn't the greatest. The lead, John, died of a stroke I believe, so the
series was cancelled earlier than planned.
