I'm working on a project that translates EAD to HTML on the fly. In
order to do this successfully, the application needs the EAD file to be
in one string, without carriage returns or line breaks. Unfortunately,
Author/Editor appears to put many of these in the file. Has anyone
successfully exported SGML files from Author/Editor without carriage
returns, line breaks or other problematic formatting features? We have
developed a Perl script to remove them, but I wonder if we can eliminate
the problematic formatting at the source. Thank you in advance for your
help,
