FLICC Orientations to National Libraries and Information Centers
Series
Defense Technical Information Center
As part of a series of orientations to national libraries and
information centers, FLICC is offering an opportunity for federal
librarians to become better acquainted with the Defense Technical
Information Center (DTIC) services. The program will include:
* Welcome and Introduction
* Presentation and demonstration of DTIC's electronic products to
include the Center's web pages, electronic current awareness
products, CD-ROM and STINET services
* Presentation of DTIC's virtual library project
* Tour of Electronic Document Management System
Date: Wednesday, June 17, 1998
Time: 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Place: Defense Technical Information Center, 8725 John J. Kingman
Road, Fort Belvoir, VA 22060-6218
Directions: From National Airport: Take the Jefferson Davis
Highway (US Route 1), also called Richmond Highway, south through
Alexandria toward Ft. Belvoir. Continue south until Route 1
intersects with Woodlawn Road; turn right onto Woodlawn Road. At
second traffic light turn onto John J. Kingman Road. Cross Beulah
Road. Please use the main gate (Gate 1) on the left. Enter the HQ
Complex building at the main entrance and check in with security.
From Virginia and Maryland: Take 495 to Exit 3 to Richmond.
Continue on Interstate 95 to Exit 166A, Ft. Belvoir/Newington
(approximately 2 miles south of Springfield). The off-ramp will
put you on Fairfax Co. Parkway/Backlick Road heading south.
Continue on Backlick Road. Turn left on John J. Kingman Road.
Please use the main gate (Gate 1) on the left. Enter the HQ
Complex building at the main entrance and check in with security.
Metro: Huntington Station (Yellow Line). Take taxi or bus from
Metro. For route and schedule information, call Metrobus/Metrorail
at (202) 637-7000.
