Believe me, I'd love to disprove this. Unfortunately, I just don't think
it's possible. So often, studios and producers, etc. want to go with
stories and/or concepts with which their potential audiences will be most
familiar. Otherwise, they put themselves at risk for failure at the box
office. And while creative originality is the ideal, the best choice (in
their minds) is to simply avoid the uncertainty.
