Hi,
in the very first moment my answer would deny that Tolkien was writing about
WWII. Reading the commentation about the fight of industrial and
nature world, very soon I relaize I have looked wrong on the story and it
is right. On the other hand, when I recall in the memory describing of
fights in the LOR, I must say they were, at least as for me, very
realistically
described. It is like in the film Starship Troopers. I like the films of
Paul Verhoeven and so I went to see it. I can say I enjoyed this film,
especially the idea of "news". Again, when I was thinking about this film,
there was something that was a little different. In the interview with P.
Verhoeven, I've read that he was using the experiences from his life, when
he had to fight like very young in the marines in the WWII. In fact, the
scenes were seeing so cruel because they were much more realistic.
The same I can say about Tolkien. His describing of the fight is much
realistic as I think who lived the experiences of the terrible WWII can't
"forget it" and so even it wasn't his intention, I can believe he used the
own experiences from the war.
