AMFELLOWS list members,
It has come to my attention that some members of the listserv are
forgetting to include their full names and email addresses in the body of
their messages. Because of this, some folks are replying to the list,
where it might be more appropriate to reply to the individual who sent the
message, leaving it to the original poster to summarize responses for the
group.
Well, thanks to the magic of listserv software (and ferreted out of the
archaic list-owners manual by yours truly), the first issue should go away
automatically allowing us all to reply to individuals, where appropriate.
While the "from" address will still be "[log in to unmask]," starting today,
the poster's email address will also appear at the top of the message. To
reply to an individual, copy the person's address into the "to" before
sending your message. Using your email software's "reply" feature will
cause a reply to go to the list.
While I was under the hood, I also flipped the acknowledgement switch.
When you send a message to the list, you will now recieve a brief message
letting you know that your post went through. If you'd rather receive your
posts as incoming messages, here's how...
Send a message to:
[log in to unmask]
Leave the subject line blank; Turn off your signature box.
Put the following in the body of the message:
SET AMFELLOWS REPro
If you change your mind, send another message:
SET AMFELLOWS NOREPro
If you don't want the acknowledgements, send this message:
SET AMFELLOWS NOACK
Any questions or comments, please send a note to me.
Later,
Betty Brown
