For those of you who were not able to attend the ground-breaking,
history-making, inaugural meeting of the EAD RoundTable of the SAA,
I would like to invite you to join.
The meeting, which took place last Friday (Sept. 4)
from 3:45-5:45 at the beautiful Dolphin Hotel, was an
open session which allowed for attendees to set the
agenda for the RoundTable. A number of comments, questions
and suggestions were put forth, leading to a more focused
agenda: to create a Website that can act as a sort of clearinghouse
for EAD information - technical, commercial, even inspirational.
Daniel Pitti has offered space on a University of Virginia
server. With the help of several volunteers, my co-chair, Beth
Bensman of Thomas Jefferson University, and I plan to build
the Website over the next few months. I will make announcements as
we reach milestones, using the EAD Listserv as an official
conduit for communication.
So, for the time being, watch the EAD Listserv for an announcement of the
birth
of the EAD RoundTable Website. In the meantime - keep tagging along!
Yours,
Timothy Young
