There is no ext.ptr attribute in version 1. Version 1 implemented XML Link
as it existed at the time of publication of version 1--XLink is still under
review by W3C, and thus subject to change.
At any rate, there is now a specific href attribute on all pointing
elements in version 1.0. The Beta ext.ptr attribute should be changed to
href in version 1.
I do believe there is a way to map all href attributes regardless of the
associated element using one Panorama processing instruction, but do not
recall the specifics of the syntax off hand. <?ATTLINK extref href URI>
will map the href on <extref>.
