News & Current Resources on the Web
Monday, 1998 October 26
Devry Institute/North Brunswick, NJ
The Web is a vital resource for news and current events. From online
up-to-the-minute wire services such as Associated Press and Reuters to
news magazines and the alternative press, learn how and where to find
the latest news. While many print and broadcast news services and
publications have extensive online counterparts, there are many online
publications that exist uniquely on the Web. All sources shown will
offer completely free or predominantly free information. In this
full-day, hands-on workshop you will
Learn how top newspapers are offering more and better information
on their websites than in their printed editions Find news
sources with searchable archives for older news stories Find and
use customizable news tools that allow quicker, simpler access to
news topics of personal interest Learn about news sources using
"push" technologies, e-mail delivery of selected news topics, and
desktop audio delivery of radio news sources
