>Ford Motor Company's Research Library & Information Services (RLIS) has a
opening for an Information Specialist in the area of Intellectual
Properties. This position will deliver and coordinate intellectual property
services from the Research Library. Acting as a resource for Ford's U.S.
and German research organizations, he or she will:
>1) Conduct searches and analyses of global patents, patent applications,
and other literatures to be used in support of Ford's patentability (prior
art), infringement (litigation), and competitive intelligence efforts;
>2) Act as liaison between Ford Research and Legal communities to support
the Company's patent application process and to provide Research
administration with information of the status of patent applications;
>3) Work with Research staff to develop data visualization tools for using
the patent literature as a research planning and competitive intelligence
tool; and,

patents and patent processes;
>5) display excellent communication (verbal and written) skills;
>6) be well versed in using common microcomputer software packages; and
>7) have a documented work history as a productive person who supports a
