There are two tools available for converting records in the MARC
transmission format into the MARC DTD format- one is a perl script
available from the Library of Congress, the other a freeware DOS =
program
called marcxml from Logos Research Systems.
Once the data has been converted into an xml format using either of
these tools, a transforming agent like xsl can be used to convert the
data from one DTD's syntax (MARC) into another's (EAD).
