I am working on a project where we are looking at different DTDs for
bibliographic data, like the EAD DTD, MARC DTD, CIMI DTD and TEI DTD. We
plan to pick one or two of them to use as DTD for data extracted from
various manuscripts catalogues that use different data formats. EAD seems
to be a good candidate. I have looked trough the "EAD Tag Library version
1.0" guide and noted that it has references to which elements corresponds
to which MARC codes, something which might indicate the possibility to make
a MARC to EAD converter.

If anyone on this list have experience with converting a catalogue from
MARC to EAD, I would be grateful to hear from you.

MARC (USMARC and UNIMARC) is only one of the cataloguing system we have to
deal with, so I am interested in hearing from anyone with experience from
converting various cataloguing system to EAD.
