I'm not sure where Madeline L'engle falls in the spectrum of speculative
fiction, but I've always enjoyed A Wrinkle in Time, A Wind in the Door, and A
Swiftly Tilting Planet. I read them when I was very young (8 or 9) and have
continued to reread them (though not recently...).
Also, there is a book called Many Waters that has not so much to do with SF
except that two characters from our time get transported back to the time
immediately before the flood through the 5th dimension (the tesseract).
Anyway, it was a good story sort of filling in fictional details to the story
of Noah and the Ark. What would you call that kind of book? Fictional
history maybe?
Regard,
Kamikasee
