Thanks for giving the readers of the EAD list a sneak peek at the
Application Guidelines. I found it very informative.
One suggestion:
Under part 4.3.2.3 Processing Instructions
you wrote
"All XML instances must begin with a PI that contains three elements:
the XML version employed; whether the document uses an external DTD such
as EAD; and optionally, the Unicode character encoding scheme utilized
(such as UTF-8)."
It may be a bit clearer to say something like "contains three parts",
since the use of the word "elements" could potentially be confusing to
some readers, who may already be having trouble with the distinction
between entities, elements, attributes, etc.
